CLASS DESCRIPTION

Basic Steps Class

This class is designed for anyone who’s an absolute beginner in the Salsa world or people who are transitioning from one style of Salsa to LA Style Salsa. In this class you will learn:

Timing for Salsa music
Basic steps
Fundamentals of LA Style Salsa partnerwork (posture, connection, frame, hand holds, dancing in a slot)
Basic step and Cross Body Lead during partnerwork.

Beginners’ 1 Class

Pre-requisite – Basic Steps Class
(Students from other Salsa styles can join after evaluation by our team)

This class builds upon the Basic Steps Class and starts focusing on turns that will be constantly executed in subsequent levels. It stresses the lead and follow techniques for these turns as well as simple styling. In this class you will learn:

Right turns for both leader and follower
Inside turns for the follower
Simple styling

Beginners’ 2 Class

Pre-requisite – Beginners’ 2 Class
(Students from other Salsa styles can join after evaluation by our team)

In this class, you will learn some of the most common LA Style Salsa moves to take your basic turns to a higher level as well as adding more moves to your repertoire. We focus primarily on lead and follow techniques, and styling. We show you the small details in each move that makes them so appealing in a social dancing environment.

Intermediate 1 Class

Pre-requisite – Beginners’ 2 Class
(Students from other Salsa styles can join after evaluation by our team)

Get ready to learn some of the hottest LA Style Salsa moves! We add more variety to your arsenal of moves as well as building upon previous levels. More emphasis is given to lead and follow techniques, and styling. The stakes get higher at this level, so get ready to sweat.

Intermediate/Advanced Class

Pre-requisite – Intermediate 1 Class
(Students from other Salsa styles can join after evaluation by our team)

Now that you’ve become a good dancer, it’s time to take your dancing to a superior level. In this class, you will learn intricate footwork and combinations, as well as more complicated styling. Lead and follow techniques are of major importance at this level since students are expected to perform moves from previous levels with ease.
